Tottenham forward Heung-min Son will miss tonight’s Europa League trip to Monaco after the £22m newcomer was ruled out for several weeks with a foot injury.

Son, who has scored three goals in five games since his late summer switch from Bayer Leverkusen, picked up the knock in Saturday’s 4-1 Premier League win over Manchester City. Spurs visit Swansea on Sunday in their final match before the international break.

“I think that it will be a few weeks, but it is an injury that we need to assess every day,” said Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino. “We are lucky that we have the international break now for two weeks and we hope it is a quick recovery.”

Spurs beat Qarabag 3-1 at White Hart Lane in their opening Group J fixture last month, while Monaco drew 1-1 against Anderlecht.
