Harbinger future to be decided
RACING: A decision on the future of Harbinger, the impressive 11-length winner of the King George VI last month, will be made later today.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained horse fractured his near-fore cannon bone (front shin) in the Newmarket gallops on Saturday and underwent successful surgery yesterday.

It was thought his career may be in the balance but John Warren, director of Harbinger’s owners Highclere Racing, said: “It’s a very good report about his well-being, which is a great relief.

“After consultation with all concerned, we will make a statement.”

England crash in final
HOCKEY: England’s first Champions Trophy final appearance proved a rather humbling experience as they crashed 4-0 to an Australia side, who cruised to a third straight title.

First half goals from Luke Doerner, Des Abbott and Jason Wilson put Australia in control before heavy rain forced an extended half-time period. Jamie Dwyer then added a fourth for the Kookaburras.

Wolves waltz to Wembley
RUGBY LEAGUE: Holders Warrington Wolves cruised into a second successive Challenge Cup final at Wembley with a thumping nine-try 54-12 victory over Catalans Dragons.

Louis Anderson touched down for three tries, while Ben Harrison, Matt King, Chris Riley, Lee Briers, Richie Myler and Jon Clarke also scored.

The Wolves now play Leeds Rhinos, who beat St Helens 32-28 in a thriller on Saturday.
