Here are six quiches that'll make you re-assess your apathy towards egg-filled tarts.

The Mount Street Deli
100 Mount Street, W1K

If you’re an ardent quiche fan, you’ll never get bored with the Mount Street Deli, which serves up freshly-baked quiches from its Mayfair premises daily. The quiche menu changes daily, depending on what hearty British ingredients are in store. themountstreetdeli.co.uk

Balthazar
4-6 Russell Street, WC2B

As in New York, there’s a boulangerie next door to the restaurant, where everything is made in-house and overseen by The Ritz’s former head pastry chef Regis Beauregard. The quiche fillings change daily here, too, and you can order a massive one that feeds eight to 10 people for £22.50. balthazarlondon.com

Gail’s Bakery
33-35 Exmouth Market, EC1R

This chain of artisan bakeries dotted all over London have a goat’s cheese and leek quiche that’s filled to the top with a creamy, eggy filling. For health conscious quiche-fanciers, there are also these broccoli, ricotta and tomato crustless quiches that look like savoury muffins. gailsbread.co.uk

Exmouth Coffee Company
83 Whitechapel High Street, E1

This independent coffee shop in Aldgate is a short lunchtime walk for those working in the insurance sector of the City. The pair who run it met while working in a patisserie in Exmouth Market, and now they’re making eggy parcels of delight for your lunch. exmouthcoffee.co.uk

Foodilic
260 Pentonville Road, N1

This snug cafe with wooden tables is great for vegetarians and even packs in many flavoursome vegan dishes, too. The vegetable quiche is a doorstop of an eggy tart that’s served cold with two types of salad for £6.50, which makes it a hearty and nutritious lunch in anyone’s book. foodilic.com

Sweet Things
8 Blenheim Crescent, W11

This bakery founded by 2014 Masterchef finalist Natalie Allen has just opened up its second shop in Notting Hill after the one in Primrose Hill filled to the brim with celebrity customers. It sticks to the classics with its cheese and onion and cheese and tomato quiches, but also serves them in miniature in its gluten-free afternoon tea. sweetthings.biz
