Here are five amazing things to do in London this weekend, no matter your mood

1: Go to a new gaming bar

Bat & Ball, newly opened in Covent Garden, is a 12,000 square foot Mecca for sports, with darts, golf, ping pong, pool and karaoke all available, and plenty of great food and drink to keep your energy levels high for the competition. thebatandball.co

2: Mark the Spring Eqinox

Today marks the Spring Equinox. So congratulations, if you’re reading this you’ve made it through winter! It’s possibly going to reach 21 degrees as we head into the weekend, so be prepared to get outside. One event to attend on Friday takes place in Tower Hill, where a spring equinox ceremony will be free to watch. z Tower Hill Terrace, EC3R 5BJ, midday sharp

3: See an Oscar winner up close

4: Bag a bargain at a flea market

Walthamstow’s beloved Big Penny Social bar and entertainment venue is hosting a flea market this Sunday. Over 50 traders will be flogging vintage and second-hand furniture, as well as clothes and other items from the home. From 11am to 5pm

5: Jog the Palace Half

How about combining some of the capital’s most beautiful gardens with a run? There’s a half marathon beginning and ending at Hampton Court Palace this Sunday 23 March. The 13-mile run crosses two bridges over the Thames and goes through the palace’s gardens. There’s still plenty of ways to get involved, especially by running for some of the charities raising money at the event. Find out more at palacehalf.com (if you just fancy a mooch through the gardens, they’ll be beautiful this time of year, and are open this weekend).
