Serbia through to semi-finals
Davis Cup holders Serbia moved into this year’s semi-finals after Janko Tipsarevic beat Sweden’s Michael Ryderstedt in their last-eight singles rubber in Halmstad. Tipsarevic, standing in for Wimbledon champion and new world No1 Novak Djokovic, won the fourth rubber of the weekend 6-2, 7-5 6-3 to secure Serbia a semi-final meeting with Argentina, themselves 5-0 winners against Kazakhstan.
