Sadiq Khan’s commute after City PM’s mayoral debate was a tall order

Labour hopeful Sadiq Khan battled it out against Tory MP Zac Goldsmith on Tuesday night at City PM's Mayoral Debate, but the evening turned into something of a lengthy ordeal for Khan.

Once the pair had finished trading barbs at the Institute of Directors all evening, attendee and Business Insider markets hack Will Martin says he spied Khan failing to outmanoeuvre a particularly tall man on the tube.

Not missing a chance to appease a potential voter, the mayoral hopeful flattered the gentleman and asked the him for his measurements.

The mystery commuter told Khan: “tall enough to get asked all the time, but 6ft 5.”

That doesn’t sound like to much to us, but Khan did look a little vertically challenged next to rival Goldsmith and our editor and debate chair Christian May.

With Goldsmith and May coming in at 6ft 3 and 6ft 4 respectively, Khan’s commute may have been the height of his evening.
