SABMiller has appointed Domenic De Lorenzo as its new chief financial officer .

De Lorenzo has been acting chief financial officer for the beer giant since February – his permanent appointment was announced in a statement this morning.

The company’s chief executive Alan Clark called De Lorenzo an “outstanding candidate”.

He has quickly made a positive impact and built a high level of credibility and community in our finance team, and with our senior business leaders, our executive committee, and our board.

SABMiller, behind beers such as Grolsch and Peroni, is the world’s second-largest brewer after AB InBev. The strong dollar has recently put the brewer's results under pressure, reporting flat results in May.
