MOTOGP: Valentino Rossi held off the challenge of team-mate Jorge Lorenzo in the Catalunya GP to ensure a three-way tie at the top of the MotoGP standings.

The Italian stole his 99th career win on the final corner and with Casey Stoner finishing third it means all three men share the overall lead on 106 points.

The 125cc race produced a bizarre finish when Spaniard Julian Simon threw away victory after celebrating one lap too early. Simon was overtaken by several other riders but looked to have clawed his way back to third, only to be relegated to fourth after losing a photo finish. He now leads the series, however, after Brit Bradley Smith finished eighth.
