MOTOGP: Valentino Rossi will make a shock comeback at this weekend’s German Grand Prix – less than six weeks after fracturing his right shin.

The Italian seven-time champion was expected to be out for up to six months after suffering the injury at Mugello on 5 June.

Rossi’s Fiat Yamaha team confirmed: “He was examined by the chief medical officer for this event, Dr Huber Fischer, who found him fit enough to compete this weekend.”
