Roads around Oval are still on lockdown this afternoon and a policeman is in hospital with injuries sustained at the scene as officers continue talks with a woman on a roof in the area.

A woman climbed onto the roof of a property on Harleyford Road at around 11.35pm last night, and police are still at the scene trying to get her down.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan police said a uniformed officer was injured when he fell from the first floor to a basement area at the property. The officer is now in a stable condition in a south London hospital.

Harleyford Road is shut both ways between A3 Kennington Park Road and Durham Street, and there are delays in the area, Transport for London said.

TfL also said bus routes 36, 185 and 436 are experiencing "serious delays" as a result of the incident.
