RIGHTMOVE yesterday posted growth in revenue and earnings in the past quarter as the UK’s biggest property search website reported a 40 per cent increase in year-to-year traffic levels since August 2008.

The property portal, which saw nearly 600m page impressions in August 2009, also reported a five per cent increase in the number of advertisers since hitting its low point in February 2009.

Commercial director Miles Shipside said: “Rightmove’s record figures for traffic this year show that estate agents are now managing to sell more properties and their costs are lower, as many have shed unnecessary expenditures and undergone serious staff cuts.” The group added current levels of activity would lead to modest price increases.
