Rebecca Ferguson, best known for her roles in Dune and Mission Impossible, is starring in an ad campaign for crypto start up Copper.

Dune and Mission Impossible star Rebecca Ferguson has become the latest celebrity to dive into the crypto space by featuring in an ad campaign for Copper.

The digital asset custodian, which provides crypto trading solutions to more than 400 institutional clients including banks, recently made headlines when former Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond joined the firm as a senior adviser.

The advert was shot in Iceland and London and features Ferguson in an otherworldly landscape interacting with Copper’s digital asset technology which lets clients trade and settle assets without the need for an exchange.

Commenting on the campaign, Tyler Kenyon, Chief Marketing Officer, Copper said: “We are honoured that Rebecca starred in our new campaign and first television commercial, it was a pleasure working with her.

“‘The Unfair Advantage’ message is meant to be somewhat abrasive because we are competing for attention in the loudest and most highly competitive industry that has ever existed: crypto. Ultimately, we want everyone to benefit from what we’ve built,” Kenyon continued.

The advert was filmed shortly before the release of sci-fi epic Dune in which Ferguson stars as Lady Jessica, alongside Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, and Jason Momoa.

Rebecca Ferguson’s previous roles include agent Ilsa Faust opposite Tom Cruise in the Mission: Impossible franchise, Riza Stavros in Men in Black: International, and Jenny Lind in The Greatest Showman.

She follows Hollywood a-listers Matt Damon and Gwyneth Paltrow into the world of crypto. Matt Damon recently appeared in an ad campaign for crypto.com whilst the Goop founder has had crypto experts on her podcast and has previously tweeted about digital asset investing.

Founded in 2018 Copper has raised $84.3m of funding to date, most recently via a $75m Series B, which included a $25m extension led by Alan Howard.  The advert has already amassed more than 120,000 views since dropping online yesterday.
