PwC have entered into a partnership with a major cricket club

PwC have entered into a partnership with a major cricket club as the professional services firm expands further into sport.

The US branch of the Big Four organisation will become the sleeve partner of Major League Cricket team the Texas Super Kings.

PwC’s Rob Baldwin described the deal as an alignment with their “commitment to investing in the communities we serve”, adding that it is “an opportunity to support a sport that is resonating with communities across” the Lone Star State.

The Texas Super Kings are one of six teams in Major League Cricket, the US T20 franchise competition with heavy Indian influence – much like sibling leagues in England and South Africa.

The Super Kings are owned by Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited, who own the eponymous Indian Premier League team, with backing from former Dallas Mavericks owner Ross Perot Jr and Indian-American businessman Anurag Jain.

PwC in US deal

“We are delighted to welcome PwC US,” Jain said. “PwC is a globally respected brand that shares our commitment to performance, innovation, and long-term growth.

“As cricket continues to expand across North America, we are excited to help elevate the profile of the sport in Texas and beyond together.”

PwC more widely has associations with Formula 1 – signing a multi-year deal with the motorsport series in 2025 to become their consulting partner – and the San Francisco 49ers – who onboarded them as official digital consulting partner in 2025.

North America is currently undergoing a revolution of traditionally non-US sports heading Stateside, with cricket attracting huge players such as Steve Smith ahead of the LA28 Olympics.

Football too is seeing a boon with the Fifa World Cup lighting up stadiums – albeit with some controversy – until the end of next week.

The Super Kings’ team includes the likes of Faf Du Plessis, Adam Milne and Hardus Viljoen.
