A punt on Big Zeb could prove a master stroke

WELL, what a cracking first day that was and there’s no let-up today with another feast of racing topped by the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

And for me, Master Minded isn’t the big race banker of the week (that comes tomorrow). Master Minded to all intents and purposes should win but I have a nagging doubt over whether he will. Admittedly that could go down as the prediction that comes back to haunt me this week.

There are a lot of quality horses in this field with Kalahari King more than capable but for me Big Zeb is a stand out price at around 9/1. He has a massive chance to put it up to the champion, as long as he jumps well enough to do himself justice.

The Bumper looks like being one of the best bets on the meeting in Drumbaloo at 8/1. It’s trained by James Lamb and has some outstanding form. And the fact that Choc Thornton has been booked is a real plus too.

Of course, today is St Patrick’s Day and Paddy Power are betting on the number of pints of Guinness drunk at Cheltenham over the four days of the festival. We’re offering 11/4 for 195,000 to 205,000 pints but there wasn’t a Paddy’s day during the festival last year so I reckon you can all beat that figure and over 220,000 pints is 3/1. Cheers!
