Gazumping has made a dramatic return to the capital’s prime property market, according to research by estate agency Marsh & Parsons. DEMAND FOR RENTED HOMES HITS RECORD HIGH
Demand for rented homes hit a two-year high during the final quarter of 2010, says buy-to-let lender Paragon Group. The percentage of landlords reporting increased tenant demand rose from 36 per cent to 40 per cent in the last three months of 2010. Just 4 per cent of landlords said that they had seen a decrease in demand. The high comes as more and more people are unable to secure mortgages and are forced to rent.
