Power 100 Women: The ultimate City power breakfast with Jayne-Anne Gadhia, Jean Stephens, Natalie Campbell and Caroline Makepeace
Bravo to today's Power 100 women, and bravo too to the four list members who graced the stage at City PM's Power 100 breakfast launch yesterday morning.
Jayne-Anne Gadhia, Jean Stephens, Caroline Makepeace and Natalie Campbell all swapped their morning meetings to join our very own digital editor and podcast host extraordinaire Emma Haslett to talk about women, the City and everything in between.
While the subject of boardroom quotas did little to bring our panellists together, there was a clear consensus that unconscious bias is the biggest underlying barrier to gender equality. Our speakers also dished out some sage words of advice to the crowd.

"Sometimes you have to be a pain in the neck, as long as you're doing it for the right reason," Stephens advised the crowd.
"Fundamentally, if you're good at your job, you can stand your ground," Gadhia, who is also the guest editor of today's edition of City PM, reasoned.
Strong views were also fired from all panellists on the recent current affairs headline topic: "heels-gate". "I have a vehement disdain for ballet pumps – I hate them," Campbell said, while Makepeace vehemently declared: "I'm going to wear whatever shoes I damned well want."

The split between heels and flats in our audience was around 50/50, with the odd wedge and gladiator sandal thrown in.
