Police arrest after Anfield cup tie
Merseyside police arrested a 59-year-old man after Liverpool’s victory over Manchester United in Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round tie was marred by alleged racist abuse. The game represented the first meeting of the two rivals since Liverpool’s Luis Suarez was banned for eight games having been found guilty by the Football Association of racially abusing United’s Patrice Evra. The arrest followed the publication on the internet of a picture which appeared to show a Liverpool fan making a ‘monkey gesture’ during Saturday’s game.
