PMQs today: Jeremy Corbyn skips asking about Syria, focuses on climate and women’s safety

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn used his six questions at today's Prime Minister's Questions (PMQs) to probe Prime Minister David Cameron on the government's policies surrounding climate change and violence against women, rather than ask about proposals for further military action against the so-called Islamic State (IS) in Syria ahead of an expected parliamentary vote on the issue next week.

PMQs today came just before chancellor George Osborne's statement combining the Autumn Statement and Spending Review.

Cameron revealed little about the chancellor's statement, but did say that the chancellor would confirm the government's commitment to spend more money on supporting women's charities.

Corbyn – who was wearing a white ribbon on his lapel in commemoration of the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women – asked Cameron whether the government was doing enough to protect victims of domestic violence.
