Chancellor Philip Hammond has announced that this year's Autumn budget will be delivered on 29 October.

I’m pleased to announce the Budget will take place on 29 October.

I’ll set out how our balanced approach is getting debt falling while supporting our vital public services, and how we are building a stronger, more prosperous economy. pic.twitter.com/FKafI3kLO9

The chancellor's spending plans for next year coincides with a series of crunch meetings in the UK's Brexit negotiations.

The EU summit, where a deadline for an agreement on the so-called withdrawal bill is likely be finalised, is to be held in October, as is a political declaration on the future relationship between the UK and EU.
