MACBETH AT THE GLOBE
The theme for this year’s season at Shakespeare’s Globe is “kings and rogues”, with various monarchs and their rogueish retinues appearing at the outdoor theatre. First up is the most famous and most villainous of the Bard’s kings, Macbeth, with Elliot Cowan getting blood on his hands in the title role and Laura Rogers as scheming Lady Macbeth. Until 27 June, Shakespeare’s Globe, New Globe Walk, Bankside, SE1 9ED. Tickets from £5 from www.shakespeares-globe.org.

UDDERBELLY RETURNS TO SOUTHBANK
Last year an inflatable purple cow with a comedy venue inside it appeared outside the Southbank Centre, and it’s back this spring for another season of chucklesome goings on. Those the stand ups this year are Alexie Sayle, Milton Jones, Dan Clark, and Arthur Smith. The headline show is Brazil! Brazil!, a high-energy mixture of capoeira dance, street football, acrobatics and music. 13 May-18 July, Southbank Centre, SE1 8XX. For tickets and info visit www.udderbelly.co.uk.
