FORMER Tottenham full-back Kyle Naughton admitted a desire to secure first-team football underpinned his departure from White Hart Lane after yesterday completing a move to fellow Premier League side Swansea City.

The 26-year-old former Sheffield United defender has signed a three-and-a-half year contract at the Liberty Stadium after an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £5m, was struck.

“My main aim is to start playing regular football again,” said Naughton. “I’m pleased it’s all done because there has been talk since the summer over a potential move.”

Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason, meanwhile, who has enjoyed a prolonged spell in the side this season under new manager Mauricio Pochettino, has signed a long-term contract at the club until 2020.
