THEATRE: Arcadia

MUSIC: Proms in the Park
The Proms get popular as Sir Terry Wogan presents a line-up of internationally acclaimed stars, including Katherine Jenkins and Barry Manilow. OPERA: Don Carlo
Verdi’s grandest opera with Semyon Bychkov, a Covent Garden favourite, returning to conduct an all-star cast. 15 Sep-1 Oct at the Royal Opera House. www.roh.org.uk.

ARTS: Tower Festival
A show-stopping line-up at this year’s Tower of London festival, with the divine Lesley Garrett singing on Saturday. On Sunday and Tuesday look out for a jaunty evening with Gilbert & Sullivan’s rarely-performed The Yeomen of the Guard. At the Tower of London. www.towerfestival.com.
