NFL fan? These are London’s 10 best sports bars to watch US sports

With the NFL and NBA seasons in full flow and the MLB world series reaching its climax, it's time to crack out your best Stars and Stripes garb and head out to an American sports bar.

We've rounded up the capital's 10 greatest places to watch US sports – whether it's a bloody brawl on the ice or NFL playoffs.

1. Bodean's Smokehouse

Bodean's has restaurants in nine locations across London, and is a great place to indulge in some classic American cuisine (aka barbecue), as well as try out a selection of three draught beers and 14 canned or bottled beers and ciders.

Bodean's screens the big games from the NFL, NBA and NHL, as well as college sports.

2. Belushi's Dugout Sports Bar

If you're looking for a full sporting experience, look no further than the Dugout. Offering high tech screens and projectors showing any sport your heart desires, it provides themed "caves" screening different games, as well as burgers, beer, wine and spirits to tide you over.

3. Sports Bar & Grill

With five locations around London including Farringdon and Victoria, Sports Bar & Grill is a must for collegiate and professional American sports fans. With an array of screens showing live sport, it offers a plethora of draught and bottled beers in order to wash down your food. There is very little they don’t offer on the drinks front which always makes for an enjoyable experience even if your team loses.

4. Frankie's sports bar

It may be at Stamford Bridge, but Frankie's doesn’t just offer Premier League matches: with 12 screens around the room, it also shows NBA and NFL matches in a vintage sporting atmosphere. As well as offering draught and bottled beer, Frankie's has a famous house bourbon and a variety of cocktails to enjoy with your meal.

5. Number 1 Sports Bar

Number 1 has a night club as well as a sports bar, so once you've had your fill of ice hockey brawls, head downstairs to dance the night away. With pool tables and screens, you can feel like you're taking part while indulging in the bar's signature cocktails and shots.

6. The Carlsberg Sports Bar

Located in the Empire Casino in Leicester Square, this bar is a great place to watch your favourite teams, then have a gamble on the result without leaving your seat. The bar also provides food and plenty of beer. Carlsberg, natch.

7. Riley’s Sports Bar

Riley’s Sports Bar screens US sports including NFL and NBA, and also lets you show your own competitive side with pool tables, darts and bingo. Riley’s offers a selection of red and white wine as well as eight draught beers.

8. The Steam Passage

A traditional English pub behind a sleek, black exterior. It’s known for simple pub grub at reasonable prices and serves a good variety of ales and lagers. A range of sports are shown daily on the pub’s many screens, including NFL Sundays.

9. Six Yard Box

A small and quirky sports bar in Elephant and Castle's Boxpark, this small yet atmospheric pub offers a variety of drinks and prides itself on craft beers. For children of the 80s, it boasts "the UK’s largest collection of Panini stickers", which coat the ceiling (mind your head).

10. Walkabout Temple

Australian chain Walkabout is known for its themed, party atmosphere – and what better place to go for Sunday night football than a bar dedicated to making you feel like you're at the game. Walkabout serves food along with great value beers and lagers.
