New Homes: What’s on sale in London this weekend in Hackney, Southwark, Bermondsey, Mitcham and Clapham

Kings Crescent, Hackney

First time buyers living or working in Hackney will be able to get a step on the ladder with Shared Ownership at Kings Crescent. Tomorrow will see 36 none to three bedroom apartments on sale, some refurbished some new, next to Clissold Park each with a balcony or terrace. Part of Hackney’s estate regeneration programme, the sales will fund new council homes for social rent and shared ownership across the borough.

Valentine Place, Southwark

Bermondsey Works, Bermondsey

First time buyers will get a chance to live in a Bermondsey regeneration zone with access to one of the longest roof gardens in London. A collection of two and three bedroom apartments went on sale this week available on the government’s Help to Buy scheme, which requires a 5 per cent deposit and comes with a 40 per cent equity loan. This Redrow development in south west London is hoping to lure househunters away from Wimbledon and Clapham with the promise of more space for their money in Zone 4. These new homes are within walking distance of Mitcham Junction station, with links to Blackfriars and Victoria in under 25 minutes. This former peppermint and lavender distillery and parchment works is now a collection of two and three bedroom houses, three bedroom townhouses and a small collection of apartments.

Metropolitan Crescent, Clapham

Two penthouses went on sale this week atop a gated development in Clapham’s leafy Conservation Area. Over half of the 36 apartments below have been sold already, but a show suite for the two most expensive homes, designed by interior designer to the stars Nicola Fontanella. The building, which dates back to the 11th century, is set in landscaped gardens with off-street parking. The penthouses come with front and rear rooftop terraces, wall- mounted Smart TVs and programmable mood-lighting.
