New homes on sale in London: from apartments on London City Island to family homes in Edgware

London City Island

A summer party heralded the sale of 100 new homes on the enormous London City Island complex on Saturday. Developer EcoWorld Ballymore offered champagne ice pops, a BBQ and a DJ to entice prospective buyers to look at the studio to four bedroom apartments on the Leamouth Peninsula. There will be 1,700 new homes in total on the 12 acre site, with the London Film School and the English National Ballet joining them in 2018. The developer is also building a 260ft red footbridge across to Canning Town Underground station.

Regency Walk, Westminster

These new homes are ready to move into in a private gated mews off of Regency Street. Countrywide has built 20 two and three bedroom apartments, while Thornsett has developed two coach houses within walking distance to Westminster, St James’ Park and Pimlico Underground stations. All homes come with parking and anticipate price increases from the proposed Crossrail 2 route at Victoria.

The City Mills, Hackney

New homes went on sale this weekend at the largest develpment in Haggerston, where house prices have risen by 7 per cent in the last year. In total, there will be 35 new homes – 15 are left – ranging from one to four bedroom apartments to four bedroom houses in the Lock Mill Building. All are available via Shared Ownership with L&Q and priority will be given to current Hackney residents.

Edgware Green, Edgware

These homes on the edge of the Metropolitan green belt of north London are being targeted at first-time buyers looking for value for money by developer Barratt London. The latest phase, The Lanes, go on sale this weekend including 37 three to four bedroom homes, near Edgware and Stanmore Underground stations. It’s part of a larger development of 937 properties on Green Lane, to be finished in 2017.

Kensington Row, Kensington

The first phase at Kensington Row at Thomas Earle House is now on sale. Developer St Edward, part of the Berkeley Homes Group, boast that 17 per cent of 1.3 acres that comprise the scheme will be landscaped gardens – a luxury in inner London –and there will be over 500 homes completed by 2017 neighbouring a sister development that has a new park and primary school in the pipeline.
