My dream to play for Barca, says Robinho
MANCHESTER CITY striker Robinho has opened the door to a possible move to Barcelona by admitting he would love to play for the European champions.
The Brazilian arrived at Eastlands in a £32m deal from Real Madrid last summer but has failed to properly settle in the Premier League amid constant rumours of an impending exit.
Barca bos Pep Guardiola is a long-term admirer of the 25-year-old and is has been rumoured that the clubs could do business in the January window with Yaya Toure – brother of City centre back Kolo Toure – moving in the other direction.
Now, Robinho has admitted he would love to make the switch to the San Siro, comparing the experience to the thrill of a video game.
“Of course I would like to play for Barca. Who would not? We could have so much fun,” he said. “It would be a pleasure to play alongside Lionel Messi, my compatriot Dani Alves, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with all of them.
“They’re a great team. I played against them and know their quality. But right now I can only do it on the PlayStation. It is a pleasure to watch Barca play.
“They look like the best Brazilian team with the way that they use the ball. Pep Guardiola’s team is truly spectacular.”
