RUPERT Murdoch’s News Corporation is planning to launch a newswire service that will give all parts of its global network immediate access to all its stories and videos.

The new service will be called NewsCore and will collate all of the media giant’s news stories, satellite feeds and web content for instant access by News Corp TV channels, newspapers and websites.

A date for the launch of NewsCore has yet to be announced, but a leaked internal memo has outlined the plans, which it describes as a “21st century multi-media information service that will draw on the worldwide news and sports resources within News Corporation and make them available to other News properties everywhere.”

Once launched, the service will be a formidable internal resource, combining the editorial might of entities such at Sky News, Fox News, The Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Sun and the News of the World.

It is understood that NewsCore will be based in New York, but will have operations in London and in Asia.
