More jobs axed at GM’s UK arm
Vauxhall is set to cut more than 350 jobs at one of its two factories in the UK.
“As part of the consultation process commenced… last week, the GM manufacturing facility in Luton has now begun its own period of consultation between unions and local management,” it said yesterday. Jobs will go at Luton “to right-size the business in line with the 2010 forecast production volume,” it said. Vauxhall is owned by US parent General Motors, which is seeking to restructure after emerging from bankruptcy this summer.
