MI6 building in central London cordoned off by police

The MI6 building in central London has been cordoned off this afternoon as police investigate a suspect package.

A Met Police spokesman said local officers were on the scene at a building in Vauxhall, and no other details will be disclosed.

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office has been contacted for comment.

A number of roads in the surrounding area were closed this afternoon, but have now reopened.
