Apple has unveiled its long-awaited and much hyped newest device – the iPhone 7.

It comes in a slick new black colour and the larger version has a dual camera, while the Home button is now completely touch sensitive rather than being an actual button that's clicked.

Apple boss Tim Cook called it "the best iPhone we've ever created" and revealed that it has now sold one billion iPhones, marking a major milestone for the brand.

The two devices – the 4.7 inch iPhone 7 and 5.5 inch iPhone 7 Plus – are water and dust resistant.

Apple has ditched the headphone jack in a controversial move and they will be connected via the lightning port. The iPhone 7 will come with a connector so that current headphones can be used.

However, the biggest announcement of the night was a new product – Airpod wireless earbud headphones.

They will have up to 24 hours of battery life with charging via a small case and will sink with Apple devices via iCloud. These will be sold separately with a £159 price tag.
