Mark Zuckerberg is now richer than Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

The Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has overtaken the three biggest billionaires in technology by accruing an additional $15bn in wealth since last year- more than any other billionaire this year.

That's not bad for a yearly paycheque and works out as $1.7m each hour, $28,300 a minute, or $472 every second.

The 30 year-old billionaire is now the 11th wealthiest person in the US with total riches of $34bn to his name. He also takes the title of the wealthiest American under 40 years old.

Page and Brin are ranked 14th and 15th respectively with Bezos at number 16, according to the latest Forbes 400 ranking of the richest people in the US.

Zuckerberg is now also wealthier than two of the world’s most well known and richest investors, George Soros and Carl Icahn.

Bill Gates remains the wealthiest person in the US, and also the world, growing his riches from $72bn to $81bn.

Second to Gates, the “Sage of Omaha” Warren Buffet also managed to grow his wealth by almost £10bn, to £58.5bn.

The total wealth of the top 25 richest Americans grew by $118bn this year compared to 2013 and stands at $836bn.
