Manchester United target Paul Pogba’s going nowhere yet, says agent, despite £100m transfer rumours

Manchester United’s prospects of luring Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford in a world record £100m transfer appear to have receded after the France star’s agent played down the potential move.

United are thought to be willing to pay Juventus more than 100 times the £800,000 they received when Pogba quit Old Trafford for Italy four years ago due to a lack of opportunities.

But agent Mino Raiola says there are multiple big clubs – among them Real Madrid – on the trail of Pogba, who helped France reach the final of Euro 2016, where they lost to Portugal on Sunday.

“Several big clubs are keen on his services and we have all the time to listen,” he said. “He has three years left [on his contract] at Juventus and they are asking him to renew.”

United manager Jose Mourinho, who has already signed two Raiola clients in striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, has stated that he is waiting on one more major arrival.

Portugal, meanwhile, paraded the European Championship trophy through the streets of Lisbon yesterday as they revelled in the national team’s first major tournament win.

Captain Cristiano Ronaldo, youngster Renato Sanches and goalkeeper Rui Patricio all made the official team of Euro 2016, as did Wales midfield duo Joe Allen and Aaron Ramsey.
