Man and woman arrested over terror offences in north London

Two people have been arrested today as part of an investigation from the Met police’s counter terrorism unit.

Officers arrested a 57-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman at an address in north London.

The man was arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of terrorist acts, while the woman as arrested on suspicion of possessing money or property for the purposes of terrorism.

Both were taken to a south London police station where they remain in custody.

Police are carrying out searches at the property in north London as well as another address in Luton.
