Make the most of the 24-hour Jubilee line with bars and restaurants including Duck and Waffle, Bar Italia and Hawker House… Or just have an office dinner party

After almost two months of the Night Tube being available on the Central and Victoria lines, tonight is the Jubilee line's turn.

The newest line on the London Underground (it launched in 1979), the silver service will now run tubes every 10 minutes between its Stanmore in the west and Stratford in the east.

Admittedly, several of these venues will require a bit of a walk, and late-night London really isn't as late night as it used to be (though it's still the home of nine of the world's 50 best bars) unless you're a fan of going clubbing in your work suit, leaving a bit of a dearth in early-hours activities.

However, you can still herald the introduction of the Jubilee line tonight by dining (or wining) at these places that are a stroll's distance from the nearest late-night greyline.

Bond Street

Make your way down to Bar Italia, one of London's only 24-hour cafes on Frith Street in Soho. Popular with Italian football fans and a haunt for those who have just left one of Soho's many clubs, family-run Bar Italia will be there for you whatever the time.

Green Park

For those of you who are swanky enough, you can schmooze your way in to the Palm Beach Casino and bar on Berkeley Street in Mayfair.

Alternatively, there may be times when local institutions such as the Royal Academy put on late-night or 24-hour exhibitions (think the closing nights of Ai WeiWei's show at the RA at the beginning of this year), but alas there are none scheduled for tonight.

London Bridge

Duck and Waffle. We know, we're probably going to get called out for this being more than a gentle stroll away, but London's finest 24/7 restaurant, located in Heron Tower, is only 19 minutes away from London Bridge station according to Google Maps.

Perfect for you to walk off your early-hours dining on well-lit, central roads and one of the finest views in London (not to mention walking over the oldest river crossing in the capital, think about THAT when you're walking over it tonight).

Canada Water

Hawker House Street Feast food festival. OK, this does close at midnight which is still in time for the last tube.

But isn't it nice to know that if it takes you a while to travel the five minutes from Hawker House because you're so engorged with tortillas and other pop-up style food that the Night Tube will still be there for you?

Canary Wharf

We don't have a venue suggestion for Canary Wharf, we'd more like to remind you that, if necessary, you can now avoid the need to work over the weekend by finishing off anything left to do from the week because whatever the hour you leave the office, the Jubilee line will be there for you.

Alternatively, turn the concept of house parties on its head and start a new trend in office parties or late-night banquets.

This is both cost effective and will let you socialise with your office workmates without having to a) spend a fortune or, b) be squashed up against people from other offices you haven't already vetted socially.

Isn't this what Uber Eats and Deliveroo were made for?

Alternatively, explore the Central and Victoria lines

If you live on the Jubilee line, you are now able to explore the length and breadth of the Central and Victoria lines.

Simply change at Stratford or Bond Street to wander the red line or at Green Park to access the swift, light-blue Victoria route.
