In the past decade, we’ve witnessed a global pandemic and we’ll likely see the fallout from climate change gather pace. Even economics is becoming more unpredictable, with most policy makers and economists being blindsided by the return of inflation to levels not seen in over 30 years.

In such a world, investors may want to ensure they have gold — an insurance asset. But there are also things about this risky and volatile world we know — notably the need of governments to secure energy security through building out renewable energy. Part of this is about reducing reliance on rogue petro-states such as Russia. It’s also about lessening the impact of global commodity market price swings, as we’ve seen in the uptick in inflation. And it’s also about mitigating the risks of climate change.

Therefore, companies facilitating the green and renewable energy transition are also appealing for investors.
