FOOTBALL: Newcastle went back to the top of the Championship after a 1-0 victory at Sheffield United last night.

Ryan Taylor’s 54th minute effort flew cruelly into the net off the boot of Blades captain Chris Morgan to send Chris Hughton’s side to the summit at the expense of West Brom.

The Magpies had keeper Steve Harper to thank, however, for keeping out a Darius Henderson header late on.
