London 2030: 14 new buildings due to change the London skyline over the next fifteen years

This is what Canada will look like in 2030 as at least eight new towers are added to the square mile's skyline within the next fifteen years.

The images of the City's future skyline are based on the skyscrapers that have already been granted planning permission and were created by The View From the Shard, the attraction at London's tallest building which has sweeping views across the capital.

Here's are some of the towers up close as they're expected to look when built, from left to right.

On the other side of the river, there are also another six towers due to be built along the Southbank (or see the full line up along the Thames from the Shard to Battersea Power Station)

Further east, Canary Wharf will also gain two new skyscrapers, City Pride and Island Point.

Visitors to The View From the Shard will be able to see the views of the future in addition to how the city looked in the past, right back to Roman times, through its interactive digital viewing platform "Tell:scopes"

The views of London in 2030 will also include developments further afield, spanning views across the north, south, east and west of the city from the top of the Shard.

The so-called "futurescape" will also be updated as further developments are approved.

The firm behind the designs, future illustration studio GMJ, said:

"For us it's a huge task. Our aim is to add as many new and significant projects to each view. We want to launch a ‘call out’ to developers and architects to provide us with the information we need to add more and more projects to this and the other views.”
