London is dating spot of choice for high-flyers and business travellers

Have you ever found love on your business travels? Do you get hot under the collar at the mention of a visit from foreign investors? Good news for lovelorn City workers then, as London has emerged as one of the best business destinations to get a date.

Whether it’s to tour our historical landmarks or take a ride on the London Eye, successful businessmen and women prefer to pick up some arm candy when work brings them here, according to a study from new travel matchmaking site MissTravel.com.

The study, which looks at dating profiles of workers in over 5,400 destinations around the world, showed that London was the number one city in Europe for finding a, er, business partner. The capital comes in at number three worldwide though, just pipped to the post by sunny Dubai and hedonistic Las Vegas.

The figures show that “the life of a frequent business traveller can be a lonely one”, said Brandon Wade, founder of MissTravel.com. “But it shouldn’t be,” he added.

Wade should know; one of the tech chief’s past business ventures was dating site SeekingArrangement.com, where strapped-for-cash students can seek out City slickers and “Sugar Daddies” to pay their rent. Who said romance is dead?
