It was once home to British spies hoping to crack enemy codes.

Now, the former MI6 London headquarters is being put up for sale as a commercial office space.

Located in the heart of Westminster, the townhouse at 21 Queen Anne’s Gate is touting businesses after three centuries of residency that saw it house aristocrats, artists and the UK’s secret intelligence service.

Between 1926 and 1964 the building was used as the headquarters of the MI6 and housed early code breaker activities before it relocated to Bletchley Park.

Tim Mantle of Knight Frank’s Central London capital markets, said: "This is an incredible opportunity to purchase an historical building in the heart of Westminster, one of London’s most sought-after locations."
