COOKING UP A WINNER AT ISHARES
The ETF provider iShares launched a new educational campaign this week in novel fashion. If you were around the City earlier this week then you may have seen two chefs, former contenders on MasterChef no less, cooking up a storm to promote the benefits of ETFs. The chefs used basic ingredients to cook up a delicious meal, which was designed to symbolise the simplicity of ETFs, which can be a great addition to your portfolio. Even if they weren’t sold on ETFs, hopefully the spectators got a taste of the MasterChefs’ handy work.

NEW PRODUCTS LAUNCHED BY SOCGEN
Earlier this month French investment bank Societe Generale launched 62 new covered warrants, eight turbos, and one football 100 per cent tracker. The new products can be used to trade BT, BHP Billiton, Prudential, the S&P 500, Vodafone, platinum and aluminium amongst others. The football tracker should be popular in the lead up to the World Cup that starts next month. Another product that could prove attractive to investors is the FTSE 100 Twin Win Accelerator, that can accelerate your earnings if the index moves in the right direction.

ENHANCING YOUR KNOWLEDGE
If you have been trading basic covered warrant strategies for a while and want to get to the next level then you should attend a seminar organised by Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) entitled Advanced Covered Warrant Strategies. The main speaker will be independent analyst Andrew McHattie who will help investors navigate the world of listed products. Learn how to distinguish a covered warrant from an accelerated tracker or turbo. The seminar takes place today, from 5.30pm-7pm, at RBS’ Bishopsgate offices. To register email [email protected].
