Leadenhall Building to open its doors for Cheesegrater views at Open House London

This year’s Open House festival of architecture, where you get to snoop around buildings you would ordinarily be tackled for trying to enter, features a star attraction: the hitherto unenjoyed view from the top of the Cheesegrater.

Yes, on the 20th and 21st of September, the public will be allowed to ride the Leadenhall Building’s lifts – long before its tenants move in.

It’ll be the first time the public has been allowed in since construction ended, and there will even be a contest to win a private tour.

Another architectural wonder on the list this year is London School of Economics’ Saw Swee Hock Student Centre. Open House alumni includes City peers The Gherkin and The Lloyd’s Building.
