Europe's demand for bigger private jets is growing, new research has revealed.

Deliveries of mid to heavy business jets to Europe are up by 18 per cent between 2006-2010 and 2011-2015.

There are around 1,691 mid to large private jets in Europe with 15 per cent in the UK, more than any other country in the region.

Mid to heavy business aircraft now account for 41 per cent of Europe’s fleet, with the global average for this type of aircraft at 32 per cent, according to finance provider Global Jet Capital.

Mid to heavy private jets typically cost between $25m (£17.2m) and $75m each.

Between 2011 and 2015 a total of 709 mid to heavy private jets were delivered to Europe with a combined value estimated at over $35.4bn.

“Long term, we expect attractive growth in the European business aviation market,” said Global Jet Capital’s Dave Labrozzi.
