Lack of home comforts a worry for ragged Spurs

HAVING taken 17 points from their opening 10 Premier League games this season, Mauricio Pochettino is under pressure at White Hart Lane.

His Tottenham side have been beaten in four of their six home games and Sunday’s visitors Everton have lost just once on the road.

Everton are still below the form that saw them finish fifth last term, but they are improving. The main problem was a defence that has leaked 19 goals.

However, Roberto Martinez has addressed that as the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at the start of October is the only time in their last 11 matches they have conceded twice in a game.

The Europa League has been a curse for Spurs, having lost three of their four matches directly after action on the continent. The Toffees’ record isn’t as bad, but much will depend on how the two teams recover from last night’s exertions.

The hosts have won three and drawn two of the last five encounters at White Hart Lane, but it’s hard to fancy a home triumph with only three teams in the league having scored more away than Everton.

Just one of Tottenham’s last eight matches has featured less than three goals. Weighed up with the attacking strength of the visitors, buying total goals at 2.95 with Sporting Index is a good bet.

All eight of bottom side QPR’s points have come at Loftus Road and they face a Foxes team tomorrow that has failed to score in their last five.

QPR have played well recently, unfortunate to lose to Liverpool, then running Chelsea close, and frustrating Manchester City. This should be viewed as a great opportunity for Harry Redknapp’s Rangers.

Spread bettors can buy the host’s supremacy at 0.35 with Sporting Index. Charlie Austin has scored six of QPR’s eight goals and his total goal minutes are worth a small buy at 26 with the same firm. The 1-0 correct score at the 15/2 available also appeals.

■ Pointers…
Buy total goals at 2.95 (Tottenham v Everton)
Buy Charlie Austin goal minutes at 26 with Sporting Index
Back the 1-0 QPR correct score at 15/2 available
