Kanye West quietly released a new version of single Famous on Apple Music, Spotify and Google Play, not Tidal which has The Life of Pablo album exclusive

Kanye West has turned to Apple Music, Spotify and Google Play, making just a single song, Famous, available on the music streaming sites after his latest album was exclusively released on smaller rival service Tidal.

The singer's latest album, The Life of Pablo, was released on the Jay Z-owned streaming service in February. But now, West has changed his tune, putting out an updated version of the one song featuring Rihanna on the other platforms.

He has previously said the album will never be available on Apple and with the latest updated release, technically it isn't. Tidal counts just several million subscribers but the release helped send the app to the top of the app store charts. However, those lower subscriber numbers are largely blamed for the album failing to chart as Tidal doesn't make its streaming numbers, which are used to calculate chart rankings, available publicly.

The usually vocal Twitter user didn't share the news of its availability on the three new platforms on social media, despite heavily urging people to sign up to Tidal back in February.

While Tidal bagged exclusives for West's album and singles from Beyonce and Rihanna in the past, it has struggled to emulate the success of larger rivals and is already on to its third chief executive in less than a year.
