Jose raps Barca’s Real ‘obsession’

BARCELONA v/s INTER MILAN
ITV1, tonight, ko 7.45pm

INTER MILAN boss Jose Mourinho believes Barcelona have an “obsession” of winning the Champions League in Madrid – just to get one over their bitter rivals Real.

The Italians go into tonight’s semi-final second leg at the Camp Nou with a 3-1 lead over the holders from last week’s first leg at the San Siro.

And former Chelsea boss Mourinho has stuck the boot in again, accusing Barca of being driven solely by their desperation to lift the trophy in the back yard of their old adversaries.

He said: “When we came here in November [in the group stages], the fans were already singing, ‘We’re going to Madrid’. What I want to say to my players is to follow the dream, not make it an obsession, because for us this is a dream and not an obsession – for Barcelona it’s not a dream, it’s an obsession.

“A dream is about pride and my players will be very, very proud to reach the final in Madrid, Moscow, London or wherever, but for them it is different – they reached the dream by winning the final in Rome and in Paris. Now it’s an obsession. And the obsession is called Madrid and Santiago Bernabeu.”
