There's no easy way to say this – but the chances of you ever owning James Bond's Aston Martin have just become considerably slimmer, after his one-of-a-kind DB10 was sold at auction for a cool £2.4m.

The car, which was sold as part of the James Bond Spectre: The Auction event at Christie's, had been expected to sell for between £1m and £1.5m – but ended up going under the hammer for £2,434,500.

That's a pretty heft price tag, considering the vehicle, which was hand-made by Aston Martin specifically for the film, isn't even road-legal.

Also included in the auction was Bond's "Day of the Dead" costume, which Daniel Craig wore during an epic four-minute tracking shot at the beginning of the movie and sold for £98,500 – and Oberhauser's Spectre gold ring, which sold for £32,500.

Meanwhile, sheet music for the movie's title track, "Writing's on the Wall", which was signed by Sam Smith, sold for £9,375, while an Omega Seamaster 300 watch, worn by Bond in the movie, went for £92,500.

So far, the auction has made £2.8m for charities including the United Nations Mine Action Service. The online version will end on Thursday, with lots including a laptop used by Ben Wishaw's Q and a Tom Ford bowtie, signed by Craig. You'd better get in there quick…
