Irish boxer found hanged
BOXING: Highly-rated Irish fighter Darren Sutherland has been found dead at his Bromley home, aged 27.
Sutherland, who won a bronze medal at last year’s Beijing Olympics before turning professional, was discovered hanged by promoter Frank Maloney. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Maloney said: “It is very sad and unexpected. It is a tragedy for Ireland and the world of boxing.”
