DAVID Currie, who has headed Investec’s UK investment banking division for more than 10 years, is leaving to establish a new venture called Codex Capital Partners.

Codex, which will be based in Mayfair, has been set up to enable ultra-high net worth individuals and family offices to make direct investments.

Joining David are two partners, Simon Ware-Lane and Lee Aston. Ware-Lane has run the family office investments for the Charles Church trust for over 25 years.

Aston, who also worked in Investec’s investment banking division up to 2005, ran Numis’ corporate finance business before establishing his own advisory business.

Currie said he’d had a great time at Investec for 20 years, adding that “everything runs its course”.
