I’m Loving Double in Duke Of Cambridge

Double Or Bubble was a very good winner of a Newmarket handicap last time.

IT WILL be fantastic to see one of the stars of the 2020 season, Love, back in action in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes (4.20pm) on Wednesday afternoon.

The daughter of Galileo rattled off the 1000 Guineas, Oaks and Yorkshire Oaks in just over two months and it was really unfortunate she wasn’t able to run in the Arc because of the soft ground.

Aidan O’Brien has chosen to pitch her in at the deep end here instead of the Pretty Polly in Ireland and with both Lord North and stablemate Armory in opposition, she’ll need to be on her game.

She’s my idea of the most likely winner, but for those betting into the World Pool, it’s worth looking at Audarya each-way given they’ll be offering three places despite there being only seven runners.

James Fanshawe’s mare was a good winner of the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf when we last saw her and could ruffle the feathers of the front three in the market if fully tuned up.

Lady Bowthorpe is the right favourite in the Duke Of Cambridge (3.40pm) on the back of her second to Palace Pier in the Lockinge.

She seems to have found a new lease of life this season, but I’d be slightly concerned she might find this mile trip on fast ground sharp enough.

The same reservations apply to Queen Power, who this step back in trip doesn’t look ideal for given the way she won the Group Two Middleton Stakes at York over 1m2f last time.

Instead I’m pretty keen on DOUBLE OR BUBBLE at 12/1 for Chris Wall.

She’s won three of her four career starts and it was hard not to be impressed by her most recent victory at Newmarket in April.

That was only a handicap over seven furlongs, but she’s more than worthy of this step up in class and if she stays this extra furlong she’s a big player.

I’ll also be having a few quid each-way on AGINCOURT at 18/1 with the four places on offer.

She ran a screamer in this race 12 months ago and was just touched off on her seasonal reappearance at Goodwood.

This is her second run after a wind operation and she should go well.
