The Hut Group, one of the UK's largest private companies, has taken up extra office space to accommodate its rapidly expanding head count.

The company, which owns beauty and health brands including Skinstore and Lookfantastic as well as range of ecommerce sites, has snapped up space in Salford's MediaCityUK. The area is also home to large chunks of the BBC and ITV, as well as the University of Salford.

Its takeup of just over 16,000 square feet on the 10th floor of Orange Tower brings the building to full occupancy. The space is set to hold 200 employees working in the technology team.

The group doubled its workforce to over 4,000 people in 2017, creating the need for more space. It has also recently announced plans for offices at Manchester Airport.

Chief executive Matthew Moulding praised MediaCityUK as a "lively business community" and said THG would tap into the local talent pool.

Neighbours will include Ericsson, Kelloggs and ITV. Stephen Wild, managing director of MediaCityUK said that THG was "exactly the kind of business we wanted to attract to this premium office space".
